Jan. 14th, 2010 01:29 amfinished watching band of brothers tonight, now I can read the tabs I have open! I have denied myself reading any of the fic or primers until watching the primary source and I am glad of it. Although, after finishing, like after I finished Generation Kill, I feel the need to rewatch as now I think I should be able to recognise some of the characters better rather than lumping everyone into 'talking helmet' categories.
if you are like me and need, like, clothing and not wearing helmets all the time to distinguish people from each other you will have trouble figuring out which people/characters you hope live through WWII!
and, like gen kill, the fandom seems to be a very people vs characters scenario - quasi RPF, but as I have no moral centre or redeeming characters and unlikely to run into Dick Winters at the shops I am okay with that. (however, if I ran into Damien Lewis at the shops the ending of the scenario would be quite different - mmm, ginger ninja!)
back to wikipedia to discover more! and to read fandom overviews to figure out who all the people I didn't realise where different people!(note: I recognised Simon Pegg in his 0.834659837465 min of screentime, but after just visiting imdb realised I apparently didn't notice Jamie frickin' Bamber was in like, 3 episodes. EPIC FAIL. unrelated!: constantly, I was like, where do I know the actor playing Buck Compton from? and looking at his imdb, what I know him from is star trek: first contact)
