Stayed over
alasens' on friday night. Didn't end up watching Superman Special Edition on DVD that she'd borrowed 'cause it was wrecked. Did end up watching "Krull" which I had never seen before. Kinda enjoyed. Well, more like enjoyed making up names for everyone like "Manacle Man" and "Pretty Boy", "Magic Guy" and "Skirt Man". And of course "Kingie". Liam Neeson and Robbie Coltrane were the only actors we recognised and were called, of course, Robbie and Liam. Was not surprised when someone bought it in the swamp. Anyone who's seen "The Neverending Story" knows that swamps are bad places. The freaky magic starfish thing which the young king gets in the first half hour and then we don't see till the end, was dubbed "Starie" and in my opinion was totally robbed. It's picture was all over the credits and the box and all it does is act like a really funny shaped chakram. AND THEN IT GETS LEFT BEHIND WHEN THE CASTLE DISAPPEARS! Starie got a raw deal. Totally.
Also saw some Buffy and Angel eps that are a few weeks away, "Seeing Red" "Villains" "Sleep Tight" and "Forgiving".
So I'm watching "Sleep Tight" and Wesley's making with the vamoosing with the baby and I'm needling
alasen(cause she's pro Wesley and he was doing a wrong thing even if he thought it was right) and then Justine steals the baby and slits Wes' throat and Holtz and Justine talk about their plans to raise Connor as their own in Utah(Utah!)and I just had this vision about how baby Connor could have ended up in the same farm town or whatever as William, Scullys' baby from the X-Files. So I tell alasen.
alasen: Wha? Scullys' baby is being raised by farmers?
meelie: Yeah she gave him away. To farmers. In Smallville. Okay that last part wasn't true.
alasen: When did this happen?
meelie: I thought you knew.
alasen: WELL I DIDN'T!
so I gave her the lowdown on the X-Files baby situation(I've been reading TWoP recaps) and she is suitably confused. Or enlightened. One of those. So later on I've got William and Connor who-have-been-raised-in-the-middle-of-nowhere-together talking in my head:
William: Well I may or may not be the result of a alien conspiracy!
Connor: There are prophecies surrounding me and my actions!
William: My real dad's a FBI agent!
Connor: My real dad's a Vampire! My real dad could beat up your real dad!
William: Dude! Your dad couldn't beat up my mom!
Not that Connor ended up in Utah. Or wherever William is. But I thought it was kinda funny.
