Unsuccessful curtain shopping

Went shopping with Childhood Friend tonight after work, as I wanted to buy some curtain material and she has kindly agreed to sew them for me. I have a blind, but it's getting cold at night now, and since I moved my bed I get light in my eyes - so, Curtains! Except, no curtains :( Bought a rod, little knobby things to put on the ends and this fold gathering type device you sew on, but couldn't find any material I liked, If I liked it it was inappropriate, if it was the right material it was ugly. Found some I liked but there wasn't enough. Decided we'll go into town next week to look some more. Had some dinner at the foodcourt and then had Gloria Jean's on the way home. Very full.

Bidded on ebay for the first time yesterday. A set of DVDs of the full run of a cartoon I like. ::crosses fingers::

Got an early mark from work today. apparently Big Name Company I work for had a good financial year so we all got to go for free drinks at 4pm today. I was boring and had lemonade. Chatted mostly with my new boss, still don't know that many people.

Stayed up very late last night reading Jenn's huge new Smallville fic "Somewhere I Have Never Traveled". Was good. And hey! Sequel!.

And The Great Escape is on! No curtains, but still a good day.
