Today is the second day in a row I have failed to return my overdue video. Yesterday I forgot to get off at K where I hired the video after visiting my mum last week, so I hopped back on the train and got some grocery shopping done and then promptly got back on the train to go home having completely forgotten to drop off the stupid video. Today when I was switching trains at Town Hall the first to come was an express that goes straight to my station stopping only twice on the way. So I decided to just forget about the stupid tape. I'll return it later in the week and just not hire from there for awhile.

Work continues to kick my ass in a challenging way. Still desperately cramming as much knowledge as possible into my brain before my supervisor leaves the country for a month, leaving me all alone to deal with stuff. Hopefully will not pull all of my hair out before he gets back. My first pay should, hopefully, go in on Thursday and that will be A Good Thing. I've been putting everything on my credit card and the little voice in my head starts shouting "Poverty! Poverty! They'll put you out in the street!" whenever my credit card balance outweighs my bank balance. But since my new job is paying me better than my last one it should be good. It's also shorter hours which rocks. It's supposed to be a 76 hour fortnight so that works out as a 7.6 hour work day, which is weird, but nice when compared to my previous 40hr week at less pay.

I am mourning the loss of my trusty Batman badge which fell off my bag sometime yesterday :( But I plan to replace it with a "Vote Lex 2000" badge that I rediscovered yesterday. At least until [livejournal.com profile] alasen steals borrows the badge maker from her work.

Have finally started reading "Abhorsen" the third book in the Old Kingdom trilogy by Garth Nix. Had to reread the second book first, so now I'm reading "Abhorsen" signed trade paperback borrowed from alasen. Is good so far.

Had fun on Sunday with [livejournal.com profile] eponymous, [livejournal.com profile] sinbrat, [livejournal.com profile] erilyn and [livejournal.com profile] hnix. But [livejournal.com profile] alasen was not there because she hates us. Or we hate her. One of those.
Watched BSB goodness and discovered the inherent destructive nature of Howie.

Broke [livejournal.com profile] hnix again while we were waiting for the train at Nth Sydney. But can't remember now exactly what it was that she couldn't stop laughing at.

There's "Under Glass" by [livejournal.com profile] ukcalico, with the Nick and JC-ness of it all! "Waters Of Life and Death" by [livejournal.com profile] basingstoke. Highlander/X-Files. I've been hanging out for this ever since some snippetty bits were posted. And there's lots and lots of rec's for Lance month.

Yay! ::goes to read::
