X-Men 2 rocked!
Okay I must admit I liked it mostly for the sheer number of nods they had in the film to the comic books, such as Colossus drawing a sketch, and Jamie Madrox's name on a computer screen(and Gambit too
alasen tells me. And Hank!! Not all blue and furry, but still!
So much squee, so little time. I saw the ending coming and it was okay, but Scott, ::sigh:: I used to have respect for you lying around here somewhere. I don't know if it was the fact that James Marsden acting sucked or if what he was given to work with blew, but somewhere the ball got dropped. Less leader-y, more weepy, extremely lame. And his screen time was way reduced. Scott lovers are gonna hate this movie.
There was also a few moments of what I believed to be unintentional humour in the movie, but it may have been the yobbo audience. Especially Scott saying an over the top emotional farewell to Jean via The Professor.
I had other thoughts but I'm too tired now and have proved my comicbookgeekiness already today on the way to the pub after the movie by summing up for my non-comicgeek inclined friends the entire Phoenix and Dark Phoenix saga.
One last thing - felt totally bad for Yuriko(Lady Deathstrike?) as she totally did not deserve that, being brainwashed and all. And Ian McKellen rocks like a thing that rocks a lot. Will talk about Rogue and Bobby later.
To sum up, was good, did squee, sleep now.
