Stargate SG1 musings

meelieYeah, so, . What got revealed? Anubis is freaky and has way advanced technology? Sam and Teal'c have more healthy reactions to loss than Jack? The Asgard have to make their own fun? Daniel may or may not be blowing wind up peoples skirts? Meh. Not that I hated the episode, I rather enjoyed it. I'm at a point were I'm trying not to overly invest in the show. That way leads to yelling at the tv and strange looks from housemates. Still upset about the Daniel, but learning to live with and medicate with slashy fic. Which is odd 'cause when I first started watching, if I shipped, it was in a Jack/Sam direction. I don't know what happened. I started to read the J/D by authors who's other stuff I'd liked and then it melted my brain. alasen to the way of J/D. Especially since she hasn't even seen that much SG1.
I must admit my own stargate viewing has been less than consistent. Saw the pilot when it first aired. Wasn't especially impressed. Kinda wanted to watch, but it was on a night when I had other commitments. Or something. I don't quite remember. Started watching regularly around the middle of season 2, started taping eps with '1969'. I'm a sucker for time travel. Hired and ::cough::copied::cough:: the episodes I'd missed and I now have pretty much every episode. Still gonna buy the DVD box set though. And the original movie. Even though most times when I watch it I only watch the bits where James Spader astounds everyone with his translation making them look like idiots and turn the movie off after he snatches the newspaper from the guard and figures out the stargate.
I'm gonna go exercise my right to denial by reading more of Dr Daniel Jacksons Diary. But I did feel better last night when I read that Daniel in the season 6 and possibly series finale will be made human again and lose his ascension for interfering in human matters. Though I don't know if that's true or not. Told alasen I hoped it would be all like in the first seasons cliffhanger and Jack would be all "You little Spacemonkey" and it would be with the cuteness and then I had to explain the spacemonkey thing to her. Will make her watch the DVD's when I get 'em.
