meelie: (trek - tiny spock endorses this)
ugh, now I remember why I don't take naps, they make me feel worse than if I hadn't slept! I only slept for about 2 or 3 hours, till about 8pm, but I still feel groggy, blerg! summer=gross, but I have a new fan for my living room now, so is slightly more bearable.

Books!

I have just mooched a couple of books off bookmooch and yay, replacing my trek books that were water damaged when I was overseas and had to get chucked when I got home(Ishmael! Pandora Principle! ILU SAAVIK!) but I have this habit of putting thing son my wishlist when other people rec them and then I cant remember why on earth I wanted that book when it becomes available! I am mad at past!me - the now!me whats to know why I wanted that damn book!

movies!

as part of [livejournal.com profile] hnix: an evening of farewell I dragged her to see 2012. not that spoilery )

fic!

I promised to link this awhile back([livejournal.com profile] iibnf; I promised to link you to this when I mentioned at cocktails): the one where spock is all de-aged and jim is looking after him and stuff otherwise known as "As Morning Shows the Day" Link is to part 1, WIP currently up to 19 parts, links to next part at bottom of each part.

[livejournal.com profile] alasen just delicious'd this: Graduate Vulcan for Fun and Profit link to part 1 of 2. trek big bang, gen fic, jim centric, vulcan awesome. good use of TOS and semi book canon, so yay!

books!again!

I am reading sharon shinn - actually [livejournal.com profile] alasen foisted "Quatrain" onto me and I liked it and now have re-read "Mystic and Rider" and am waiting impatiently for the rest of the series that I just bought off depdiscount to arrive. She has alse lent me today "Heart Of Gold" which was the other series that seemed most interesting to me when reading Quatrain - quite frankly the angel books seem a little creepy and non-con-y. non-conny? non-conesque? anywoo.

right now, while I wait for sharon shinn I am reading sherwood smiths' "Crown Duel/Court Duel" - I like it, but the heroine is a little slow. I hate first person books when you can obviously pick up in things the main character isn't getting.

Music!

last night [livejournal.com profile] sinden and I saw the basics at the factory - it was a good show! I like their 60's type stuff and the stuff where the drummer goes nuts, but their slower man-pain songs are a little naive lyrically. or something.
