my hands smell like cleaning stuff
May. 24th, 2002 04:48 pmSo today was the day the fridge repair guy and the handyman who needs to fix the window and the bathroom cabinet were supposed to come. One out of two isn't too bad yeah? Got up early(well early for me anyway). Waited. Waited some more. Called handyman-guy. He said he wasn't coming. I was very polite. Very. Will reschedule for next week. Waited for fridge-man to come. Cleaned fridge in the meantime. Should have worn gloves. Fridge-guy showed up on time, replaced the compressor in the fridge which included adding all these new pipes and welding! He was really nice and even replaced the burnt out lightbulb inside the fridge. Paid him. Ran to train station and eventually got into work only about oh, 4 hours later than usual. But Fridays are pretty slow so it was alright.
While I was waiting for various handy-type-repair people to show(or not show, grr!) I kept hearing these rustling noises. rustle-rustle-rustle. I track the noise down to A. and F's room and open the door. I don't see anything for a moment and am feeling very puzzled, when suddenly Freya, one of A.'s ferrets came into view cresting the top of a pile of laundry like a ferrety Sir Edmund Hillary. The mystery of the rustling noises solved.
I shut the door before they realised it was open(they usually try to make a break for it when the door's open) and returned to my waiting.
