So yeah, [livejournal.com profile] alasen and I went and saw Placebo on Sunday night(note to self - next time don't book for a night when you know you have to work the next day). She talks about it here and here. I'm pretty much 'music good, band pretty'. and yes,

Had some problems earlier in the evening with My Idiot Brother(I'm gonna start all of my brother stories that way now "So My Idiot Brother did this..My Idiot Brother did suchandsuch". The best part is it works for both of them!) but it sorted itself out and I decided to enjoy the show. The first act were okay, I think I've heard one or two of their songs on Triple J but I couldn't for the life of me remember their name. When Placebo finally came out it totally went off. Woo!(Which I also shouted a lot "" and also sang along with many songs and danced like a lunatic) I triplemegaheart "Bulletproof Cupid" and "Black Eyed" was very spiffy live, had more oomph to it than the album version.

They had some technical difficulties during the third? song I think, and switched to a slower song but then it all got straightened out.

But the dancing!in!"Change Your Taste In Men"! Rar! We were not the only ones squeeing.

And the bassist? Really tall guy? at one point bent over backwards in a move worth of JC and moving very liquidly at other points during the concert. I esp. liked when he moved behind Brian Molko(lead singer) while Brian was on his knees singing his little androgynous heart out during a song.

Afterwards my ears were still ringing and I couldn't hear properly and I passed this info on to alasen while we were waiting for the bus she told me in return that while her hearing was pretty much back to normal she could feel her eardrum.

...

Yeah, that's pretty much the look I gave her too.
