Aug. 1st, 2004 10:25 pmMmmmm. Good weekend. Had games and dvd's with non fannish friends on Sat night after a day of walking to the shops to get some rolls for lunch and watching a whole heap of my Bab5 dvds that came on Friday. Yay Bab5! Boo Hiss the 3rd season in the case and not the gatefold version though. Today was Fahrenheit 9/11 with
sinbrat,
hnix and
eponymous. It was a bit more bloody than I was expecting and while I thought the Moore 'stunts' weren't really needed they are so much a part of his usual style they weren't really out of place. Afterwards there was visiting of bookshops and comicshops and purchases made at each place by myself. Tally: 2 books, 2 manga, 1 comic. I was really good at the comic store and only got the new Evil Dead comic, despite all the others that I could have gotten. I could not resist the Bruce, also the drawing style looked to be in an parody type style. Haven't read it yet.
Had a headache when I got home, and was at an interesting place in my current book("Folly" by Laurie R. King), so I ran a bath and put on a cd and relaxed and read for awhile. This is something I don't do very often as I don't have the patience for it and I hate risking a book to the wet. But this time I made an exception. I eventually got out, had something to eat and finished off my book. sekrit message - G, it was who I thought it was A tiny bit predictable but it is forgiven for providing some lovely building of atmosphere and a flowing pace that I quite enjoyed.
Now, should I go to bed early, or read some of my new things? Hmm, tough call.
