those wacky postal workers!
Apr. 2nd, 2004 10:22 amOkay I've been looking at shipment cost for getting some books from the US and having a wander around the US postal service site and stumbled on the prohibitions for sending things to Australia.
The following are not permissible to be sent through the US mail to our fair country:
* Goods bearing the name "Anzac."
The only Anzac biscuits we want are aussie ones, dammit!
* Registered philatelic articles with fictitious addresses.
That sounds a whole lot dirtier than it actually is. Stamp collectors are way dodgy, yo.
* Seditious literature.
Seditious to who? Or what? Just the Australian government or any government?
* Used bedding.
okay, this one actually has my support. But how many times must've people sent their used bedding through the post for this to become an issue? ew.
