today: no dying! yay!
Jan. 8th, 2005 03:38 pmOh yay, yay! I just had another lesson, and this one went well! not like last time when I almost drove the car through Sydney tech after freaking out at a double lane turn. No, today I did that double lane turn again and I kicked. it's. ass! Take that stupid double lane turn! You too, roundabout that requires breaking turning and accelerating! In your face!
Today I was doing so much better on the turns and the harder roundabouts. John showed me where the blindspot is and going to and from the curb. We also zipped down King G road so fast I was like, dude, I don't want to get my L's canceled for speeding! and John was less chatty today, with conversation relevant to what I was doing, one thing that annoyed was when he would use terms like I should already know what they mean. But I did a u-turn! and reversed! okay, only a little but still!
one of the reasons John might not have had much room to chat today as I have discovered the best way for me to drive is to constantly announce what I am doing, for example: Turny turny break! turny gas! etc. I caught myself saying 'gas' a few times, is this too american and wrong? Will people come and take my australian passport away from me?
the only really bad point of the lesson was when I didn't come to a complete stop at a stop sign. bad me.
