you win some, you cold shower some

today, I bought issue #266 of Uncanny X-Men(the first appearance of Gambit) in excellent condition for just over a dollar. A dollar. I got home tonight, and my hot water, she is kaput.

I also got the first appearance of Jubilee for a dollar(shut up). which, isn't as financially appealing as the gambit but still excellent. I found some avengers and was crossing my fingers for a rogue first appearance(in avengers annual,um #10? I forget which, but I know what it looks like), but no joy.

I have no X-icon. that is sad-making.

... DUDE. I'm so outrageously jealous right now. Seriously.

I'll be in my corner, sulking. (And all my X-Men icons are in other journals, sadly.)

I couldn't believe it myself! There was a whole box of a run from middle 200's Uncanny up to about Phalanx Covenant, it was like someone had stolen my collection from under my bed. I was desperately trying to remember what some of the more valuable issues were!

You know, I used to own the first appearence of both Gambit and Jubilee... but alas I stupidly sold most of my Marvel comics to used book store many years ago. Meanwhile, I did keep my Wolverine and Spider-Man comics, they were the only Marvel titles I refused to let go of.
