yo, [personal profile] erilyn!

I've read "Cordelia's Honor", "The Warrior's Apprentice" and I'm in the middle of "Falling Free" now, thanks for lending, but now I must have more! I skipped into the local library(not one which contained [livejournal.com profile] alasen today though) and found "The Vor Game", "Cetaganda" and "Komarr". I can read "The Vor Game" and "Cetaganda" without reading them horribly out of order, yes? Learn me!

There's more of the Quinn chick right? The one who got her face blown off? I didn't like Elena and I'm glad she married someone else. *sniff* Sergeant Bothari *sniff*

And now we're going out to see Kill Bill! Yay!!!

Yup, Vor Game and Cetaganda are pretty much the next ones in chronological order (plus some short stories, that I now have, cause I found the book in Melbourne!) but DO NOT READ Komarr. I can give you more the next time I see you, just remind me.

And yup, there's more of Quinn. Hmmm, I'm not the world's biggest Quinn fan, though I've never been able to figure out why.

Coolness. Shall read those two after I finish "falling free" then.

but DO NOT READ Komarr.

Okay. I wont even read the back! But now I am exrtemely curious... And yeah, next time we have lunch I'll harrass you for more in the series :)

I liked Quinn, even though there was'nt much of her, maybe when I know her better I'll like her less ::shrugs::

Don't let me put you off Quinn, like I said, I don't have a reason not to like her :)

Mwahahahahaha! This universe is so addictive, I love to watch people fall for stuff I love.

Like, now now, or sometime in the near future/next few days. Because if it's sometime in the near future/next few days, I'd very much like to come along.

Some people are going to see it Sunday. I dunno if I can make it then (or even if I want to see it, actually *g*).

Yeah, I saw that. Isn't charliequinn a melbourne pop slasher? Or is a different person from the one I'm thinking of?

I wouldn't mind seeing it again, but really it's a movie where it helps if you're desensitized to violence, or can admire the overuse of it as an art form(or if you're just plain ol' dead inside like me ;)

[identity profile] erilyn.livejournal.com 2003-10-22 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, she's gonna be up here visiting Selina!

And I'll probably end up going to the movie, or at least that's what I'm thinking today :)

Like with QT's other films, a second, third and fourth viewing is actually pretty necessary - you just *can't* get it all on the first pass. See it again, definitely :-)

Isn't Miles one of the most lovable characters! And yes, there is more Quinn.

I really liked what I've read so far, I very much enjoyed the epilogue in "The Warrior's Apprentice" :)

Oh, let me know what you think! I'm in love with it - just got back from my third viewing :-)

Yeah, wow. I really liked it. I can't wait for part 2. I loved the score and the soundtrack epescially the 'bang bang' song and the retro Japanese girl rock group. The style of the movie was so pulp you could almost feel the pages at times at then suddenly it's all Japanese samurai movie style. It all meshed so well.

Do you think volume 2 will have more of a western feel to it? I mean as the genre it will be in the style of?

[identity profile] lydia-petze.livejournal.com 2003-10-22 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
You know, I haven't got a clue? And I think I like it that way. I do like your idea, though - she's done the Oriental style showdown, so the spaghetti-western ambience of that shot of the DVAS outside the chapel could be a foreshadowing of styles to come.

I want to see more of Michael. *How* cute 'n cuddly is he looking?

Man, I love those books - Lyn was my dealer, too. And my favorites are Komarr, and A Civil Campaign (esp. ACC) so as far as I'm concerned you've still got the best bits of the series ahead of you. *g*
